*Princess seams are long rounded seams sewn into blouses, shirts or dresses to add shaping to closely follow a woman's form. They are sewn into the front and/or back of the garment, and extend from the waist up to the shoulder. Princess seams are distinct from princess darts in that they form a continuous line and are a full seam. Viennese seams are similar to princess seams, except Viennese seams begin at the armhole, and princess seams begin at the shoulder. Both extend the full length of the garment, and the popular term for both is princess seam. Whether your garment has princess darts or princess seams, they go a long ways in adding shape while eliminating bust and shoulder darts.
We had some great designs and styles back in the 1970s. My babies were young, and the world looked bright. I sewed a lot back then. I really like the tucks on front this yoke. This is a very flattering style.
